Celebrating over 85 years of service
The 40's...During World War II, DPW's production shifted to support the military effort in the war. The company joined other small Oregon manufacturers to form Oregon War Industries to provide support for armament, ships, and machinery.
The 50's...DPW developed, produced and sold the Dependable Shell Core Machine line. It became the industry standard, and was sold worldwide for over 50 years.
The 70's...The 1970's were a time when aerospace was initially developing the use of castings in structural airplane components. DPW worked with Boeing engineers to produce the tooling for the largest aluminum casting ever used in an aircraft to date.
The 80's...In 1982, DPW purchased a single McAuto Unigraphics 1.0 CAD/CAM programming system, and two Mazak CNC milling machines. This was the start of a technological revolution at DPW which changed the way tools were made for the first 50 years of business.
The 90's through today...In 1988, Carl Mattson turned over the company to his son, Tom Mattson. Under Tom's leadership, DPW has continued to thrive. The company has added several new CNC machines, as well as new technologies including 3D printing and 3D scanning.
In the future...We will continue to seek out best in class technologies, tools and materials for design, and manufacturing as we move forward. We will continue to make investments in the training and education of our highly valued employees, because it is only through their efforts that we can continue our success.
