3D Printing / Rapid Prototyping

Picture
Our machines

DPW entered the 3D printing market with our first machine in 2000. It used the LOM (Laminated Object Manufacturing) process, using fused paper sheets to build the part.

Our next machines have all been Stratasys Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) additive manufacturing machines. They create plastic RP parts by building up thermoplastic layers from the bottom up. It is similar to how an inkjet printer prints, only injecting plastic instead of ink.

Our current models are 400mc's. They are very versatile machines with several plastic material types and colors.

Watch this machine in action
Highlights of the 400mc
  • Envelope size: 16" in X, 14" in Y, and 16" in Z
  • 3 to 5 times faster than previous machines
  • 4 build Z level resolutions: 0.005", 0.007", 0.010", and 0.013"

8 material choices for 400mc
  • ABS-M30 - Up to 70% stronger than ABS.
  • ASA - UV stable and fade resistant colors with even higher strength than ABS-M30.
  • NYLON 12 - Flexible for snap fits, high fatigue resistant, and strong chemical resistance.
  • PC-ABS - Superior strength and heat resistance with the flexibility of ABS.
  • PC - Offers accuracy, durability, and stability for strong parts used in functional testing.
  • PC-ISO - Translucent and will transmit light through it.
  • PPSF - A working high temp capability of 450ºF and high chemical attack resistance.
  • ULTEM 9085 - Strong, lightweight and flame retardant.
